In my works I generate automated internal subject matter for the paintings and drawings, forming a mutual relationship, and feeding off each other by means of content and material limitation.
Oozines, diffusion, crusty, almost sculptural surfaces, poures, and soft staines lead to the construction of form; but also become a mode of inquiry of what is in the process of being made. The interaction between the language and the pictorial prompts disruptions; allowing for an extension and renewal of formalism in opposition to excesses imposed on the pictorial matter.

I consider my studio as a spectacle arena, where I aim to host a grand celebration that confronts the bombastic powers of the sun scorching the earth and propelling me into a state of rapture. Conversely, I also embrace the concept of the moon as a vehicle for contemplation, using it to gaze upon and explore. I insert myself into this visual representation, balancing my own identity against the world’s imbricated meanings.
Asserting the original unity of man-as-the-universe in the dissolution of duality (microcosm/macrocosm), I want to create a version of the world, both as realism and allegory; paint a landscape, and a painting of the landscape – a frame-in-a-frame - capturing it as it happens, with superimposed containers of language - weird ideas, buildings, people that I’m looking at or thinking at that exact time.
